How to Run ECHO3D on macOS When you download the ECHO3D code on a macOS computer, the files may have an extended attribute called com.apple.quarantine. You must remove this attribute before launching the applications. Removing the Extended Attribute: Open Terminal. Navigate to the Codes/MacOS_ARM directory. The package ECHO2D is updated to version 3.5

Version 3.5: a  bug in ECHO2D for the rectangular structures with the magnetic boundary condition fixed; the calculation of the resistive wall wake in ECHO2D, ECHOz2 is changed to improve the accuraccy; the code ECHO2D is compiled for different OS and Intel/ARM processors.

Wall conductivity in ECHOz2 and ECHO2D.

As default mesh use 5 mesh lines on sigma in vacuum and “NStepsInConductive=10” in metal. It means that the skin depth in the metal will be meshed with 10 mesh lines. If you increase the mesh density in vacuum by factor 2 (10 mesh lines on sigma) you should simultaneously increase by the same factor “NStepsInConductive” in metal: “NStepsInConductive=20”. It means that the calculation depth in the metal remains the same. For 20 mesh lines on sigma use ”NStepsInConductive=40” and so on. …

ECHO2D: Linux version.

I have compiled the code ECHO2D for linux. It is thread parallelized. The number of threads is equal to the number of modes. If only one mode is calculated then the code is serial and it will be slower than ECHOz1 or ECHOz2 where the one mode calculation is thread parallelized.
